Longcourse Cattery is a family-run, local authority five-star rated cattery
Located at our home in Duckmanton, Chesterfield. We provide calm, comfortable, and individual care for cats, with welfare at the heart of everything we do.
Because we live on site, our guests are never left unattended, providing reassurance outside customer opening hours and allowing us to keep a close eye on every cat in our care.

Family-run from the very beginning
Longcourse Cattery was established by Sarah and Steve in 2017, with the aim of creating a calm, safe, and comfortable place where cats could truly feel at home while their owners are away. From designing the building to setting the day-to-day routines, everything was carefully thought through with cat welfare at the heart of it.
The cattery is run by Sarah and Steve alongside their son Tom, who is closely involved in the daily care of the cats and knows each guest individually. It’s important to us that cats are cared for by familiar faces, in a calm and consistent environment.

Other Things We Do…
We’re very much a family operation beyond the cattery too. Tom’s sister, Meg, runs Diamond Dogs Grooming, located next to our office, and brings her own professional experience of working with animals into the wider family business.
Alongside Longcourse Cattery, we also run The Summer House, a small pet boarding facility situated nearby. Between us, we have many years of hands-on experience in animal care, welfare, and the day-to-day running of licensed animal businesses.
This shared experience allows us to run Longcourse Cattery, as well as The Summer House, professionally and reliably, while keeping the friendly, personal, family-run feel that so many of our customers value and trust.
